Sewing Classes

I also offer private lessons that can take place in either my studio or your home. Individual classes can be taught to groups of two or three at a discounted price of $10-$20 per person. Please contact me at functionalgarments (at) gmail.com to set up a lesson.

Basics of Sewing I
Learn the basics of sewing, including how to use and care for your machine. This class will serve as a foundation that will leave you confident to attempt beginner sewing projects with ease.
$15-25 per hour (this class usually takes 2-3 hrs)

Basics of Sewing II
In this class you will create a simple project of your choosing (tote bag, PJ pants, circle skirt) and learn about patterns, sewing seams, facing, hems, and closures. Techniques learned vary slightly depending on the project selected.
$15-25 per hour (this class usually takes 2-3 hrs)

Project Based Lesson
Choose your own pattern and complete your project with thorough assistance in sewing and fitting and learn tips and techniques along the way. $15-25 per hour (time depends on project)

Rates are established on a sliding scale. You decide whice price within the range you are able to pay.
