Writing is awesome.
BOOKS, BOSTON, ECONONONOMY, FEMINISM?, GENDER, IDENTITY, LOL, TEXT

Recently I’ve been trying to put to words what I’ve been contemplating with a few works in progress. Here’s what I have so far:

1.The ideology of the gaze functions as the conceptual frame for the logic of the gendered body.

2.The legitimation of desire functions as the conceptual frame for the culture of the public sphere.

and

3.The emergence of post-capitalist hegemony invests itself in the authentication of power/knowledge.

I was hoping to open these topics up to discussion on this site, seeing as you all are some of the smartest folks I know.

Just kidding. I made those up on this site: http://writing-program.uchicago.edu/toys/randomsentence/write-sentence.htm

VENN DIAGRAMS EXPLAIN EVERYTHING
A SPARKLE IN ONE'S EYE, ART, CATS, DRAWING, LOL, TEXT

I have always loved Venn Diagrams. They are fucking awesome. Here are some good examples:

dinosaursdragons

(Yo dog. Dinosaurs do fly.)

Sweatpants

(sweatpants)

(for more of these. click the tag “women” for some good stuff)

mintvanilla

(notice the text on the side of this one above. apparently I don’t like vanilla, and noit doesn’t like mint)

vennbikers

(this one is for Ben)

lovevenn

(Yo, Vanilla Ice, make that girls SMILE, dawg.)

venntay1venntay2venntay3

(those are for taylor)

prettyvenn

(this one is just really beautiful)

vennblogreaders

(this is for everyone on here reading this right now. no i haven’t written a book, yet.)

vennmindy

(for the midwesterners and backcounty folks)

vennbrokenheart

(for the brokenhearted)

vennasshole

(for the tragically ironic)

But all in all I know that unless I stop appropriating to such an extreme, I am not actually making legitimate artwork. So, therefore, I made my own Venn Diagram. As rendered below:

Vennhairmod

(modified diagram as per comment from Cliff:)

vennhairmod

(this is for Cliff Evans, cats, and all my other teachers. Waiting on Cliff to google search himself for this one.)

A) Cities with no advertising?

I think this would be awesome, but would it infringe on the rights of companies? Would it just look really weird? Would graffiti die down a bit (since there’d be not billboards to get up on)?

B) Speaking of graffiti…

freedom through limertation

1. setting limmits on ourselfs frees us from nature – socioty – imposing their limits upon us

2. many of our tecknollagies, rather than helping us, hinder us. this is becouse teqcknollagy incorages us to avoid our limitations rather than meet them, which is our pathway to god

3. our tecknollegys are often created out of fear and our need to feel entertained rather than actual need. they also fool us into beliving we are safe and invincable, therby increeceing ego atachment and missery.

4. the bicycle is an invention of genious, the car a mere inevitability and ultametly a monstrosity

5. The telivision and internal combustion engin have ruined life

6. climbing mount everest with an oxgen tank makes climbing mount everest easyer but actually devalues mountiains, the climber and the achevment

7. the reason for setting out on a journy is not to arrive magicaly at the goal, but to not know if we are going to make it to the finish. bravery is being willing to engage with our limitations

8. we lose trust in ourselfs and god by rigging the vote
