This morning Taylor and I were discussing the role of Gwen Stefani in 90s music consumerism.

Gwen Stefani was probably one of my biggest influences in my childhood, although in hindsight her fate has become slightly tragic:

I just bought this interesting take on the adjoining of two pieces of our childhoods into one shitty cheap little machine.

Of course it was made in China, and I thought I was getting a deal a time being while buying but prices online were less…

I really want a beer right now. Oatmeal Stout would do it. (: So of course on impulse I went out and bought that “RetroDuo” thing 3 days ago after remembering my brother and I had a decent amount of (super)Nintendo games left lying around. So this machine can accept either original or super nes cartridges and has a switch to toggle between 8-bit or 16-bit. Thats pretty fuckin’ sweet! BUT, the directional pad (or whatever you call it) is really sticky. I can barely ever make Mario crotch down. I might just have to buy a new SNES controller, and another Super Metroid considering I left all of my good video games at the Butcher Shop and they’ll never mail them to me. (Russ mail me my package and my w-2 !!!)

And so I’m just drinking coffee and playing Super Mario Bros 3 getting really frustrated. (I was playing Super Mario Bros 2 but it was too hard)

That is my least favorite enemy.

And I’m coming up to Boston for Ian’s performance event he is hosting. just to tell you all.

Why are screen captures so whimsical? It’s like a magical photos of things previously unphotographable phenomenon.

Apparently, the generation below us, ie: younger brothers and sisters, after growing up in a world of the internet and cell phones has developed a whole new slew of adolescent age problems.

One of them is ‘Textual Harassment’ which is the clever term for when somebody constantly texts you, is angry when you don’t respond, and wont leave you alone.

When I was a kid, PSA’s were for not doing drugs and not getting into vans with strangers.

Kids now are being persuaded to ‘talk it out’ and ‘respect privacy’ instead of texting eachother constantly and breaking into eachothers myspace pages.
