I am proud to announce the first show to be held at the new MEME Gallery in Cambridge, Accumulation!

Accumulation (phase I) will provide an environment to witness the evolution of a space that has
been activated by accumulated creative action. Over the duration of this exhibition the 6 Boston-
based artists and curators of MEME will spontaneously create an evolving installation.
All evidence from these actions will remain in the space and each artist will be challenged with
how to interact with another’s remnants. Accumulation will challenge ideas about artist
collaboration while creating an innovative exhibition of performance art documentation.

Accumulation’s opening will be held on June 13th from 12-6pm. Because of the nature of this
exhibition, a closing, complete with a screening of video documentation of all occurrences in the
space will also be held on June 26th from 7-10pm.

Located in Central Square, Cambridge, MEME will provide space for ephemeral art to be
made and witnessed. A tireless schedule of exhibitions, screenings, residencies and workshops
will bring together local, national and international artists. MEME’s goal is to provide
support for ideas that typically have a difficult time finding a place in the world. Keep an eye
out for local artists PRINCESSdie, GJYD, Rome’s Travis McCoy Fuller, and The Present
Tense’s Archive release event in the upcoming months!

I, Joseph Sledgianowski, under pseudonym ‘EUU’ which I record and perform the majority of my experimental/noise/electronic music have finished my latest album EUU’s “Purr”. A 30 minute cassette.
Side A – 1: Purr 2: Colon with Vinyl

This release comes with a small 36 page insert of drawings and collages, hand numbered out of 48.

And is completely sealed in a piece of blue vinyl-originally pool hose/tubing-which is then hand burned the album title ‘ EUU’s “Purr” ‘.

Purr is EUU’s latest movement dealing with sexuality, loss, compulsion, attention and the translation of the physical and mental to the auditory. This proving not to be at all a new realm for EUU but an intimate advance.
This release is not created just to be listened to but also to be felt. The allocation of particular frequencies, panning, and repetition; disposition in exploration not only to be heard but seen and caressed. What is taken can be firm and influential. What is taken can be timid and derisible.

Internal Memo, Bright Happy Smile Dental Associates

To: All office personnel at Bright Happy Smile Dental

My dear team:

It is with great joy that I share this news with you! Starting next month, we will begin offering all of our patient services free of charge. This in no way affects your paycheck because our funding will come from generous sponsors instead of from the patients themselves.

Our insurance coordinator, Kathy, will be changing positions in the practice to take over the duty of implementing this new and exciting program. In order to qualify for this sponsorship, we will all need to modify our office routines in the following ways to allow for maximum product placement:

When answering the phone or greeting a patient, business personnel will mention the name of the building sponsor. As an example: “Thank you for calling the Bright Happy Smile Dental Associates, brought to you by Comcast. How may I help you?”

Any items that are given to the patient for use while in the practice (pens, cups, tissues) should be called by the name that is printed on them. Be sure to use the logo name and not the customary name; for instance, a patient napkin will now be called the Red Lobster bib.

The liquids dispensed in any form, whether from an air-water syringe or a high-speed handpiece, should be referred to as Coca-Cola coolant.

All crowns, fillings, and inlays/onlays will be described to the patient as dental restorations by Kay Jewelry. The exception to this are veneers; they will still be called Lumineers.

Patients who come in for preventive maintenance will need to be informed that their dental prophylaxis appointment is now called a Jiffy Lube.

To reduce no-shows and to improve communications with everyone who visits our practice, Kathy will be collecting the cell phone numbers and e-mail addresses of each patient so that we can send them periodic newsletters, text messages, and appointment reminder emails. Our sponsor’s logos will be included on all correspondence.*

I hope that this new series of changes inspires all of you to continue to strive towards dental excellence and office harmony. Apparently, a Koolhaas designed building is/has burned down in Bejing. This is funny for a variety of reasons, most obviously the joke I am about to tell.

“When is a Koolhaas not a Koolhaas?”

“When?”

“When it’s in Bejing during the end of the Lunar New Year!”

(It’s a Hauthaas!)

All joking aside, this is kind of crazy! Not because of all of the architectural disasters that have been plaguing China as of late, but because how often do you get to see a majorly impressive architects building burn to the ground with fireworks in the background? For your viewing pleasure:

After we don’t need to worry about money, let reenact/reinvent some awesome history.

It appears the inhabitant of the humble flat fled in a hurry and shrivelled bread rolls still lay in a string bag. Grocery brands from the Socialist state filled the kitchen.”

UNFORTUNATELY there is only one picture from this exciting time capsule. I was especially dissapointed, as I have a fondness for the East German bloc aesthetic.

ALSO I am very interested in other issues of the usage of space in especially East Germany, so you guys should read this article about the anxiety and irony surrounding the construction of a castle in Berlin that will take the place of the Palast Der Republik (as seen below).
