Recently I’ve been trying to put to words what I’ve been contemplating with a few works in progress. Here’s what I have so far:

1.The ideology of the gaze functions as the conceptual frame for the logic of the gendered body.

2.The legitimation of desire functions as the conceptual frame for the culture of the public sphere.

and

3.The emergence of post-capitalist hegemony invests itself in the authentication of power/knowledge.

I was hoping to open these topics up to discussion on this site, seeing as you all are some of the smartest folks I know.

Walking home tonight I realized something important. One must have solidarity with one’s solitarity in order to effectively manage, well, everything. I know I made that word up, but that’s also important (making up words) for creating a new culture that we can all agree upon in order to annihilate in 50 years time. I suppose that doesn’t really make sense.

Here is one take on aloneness. With a good graph, in addition.

The Solitary Artist. Noble in their cause. Alone in their suffering. Starving in their kitchen.

Entering is allowing the void to embrace you, filling is attempting to negate the void. Can we enter the void together and not attempt to fill it? How many of us will fit in the void before it is full? Is the void within or without?

Apparently, a Koolhaas designed building is/has burned down in Bejing. This is funny for a variety of reasons, most obviously the joke I am about to tell.

All joking aside, this is kind of crazy! Not because of all of the architectural disasters that have been plaguing China as of late, but because how often do you get to see a majorly impressive architects building burn to the ground with fireworks in the background? For your viewing pleasure:

Now, I have finally crafted the call for work for the second show (yes, I am calling it second, because missed connections ultimately became what it was meant to be by not happening at all) and I am looking for sweet, sweet submissions. The only stipulations are that I am looking for a night of believers (or those who question their beliefs) who will passionately display/produce/examine those passions.

This is a time to find out what it is you believe in, to articulate (visually and blatently) why you believe (in your work?).

So I was browsing through the blogs that Russ posted about bikes and noticed a link to an article about “Beautiful Godzilla’s” and I wondered what they were. I read the article and realized the term came from Seinfeld. Two things I like come together in this article. What do you guys think of this new breed of bikers?
