Lewis responded that designer Real D glasses, including Gucci designs, will be available “in certain outlets” before “Avatar” opens in December. Prescription glasses are on the way some time later. Lewis told Daily Variety that there are also plans for toddler-sized glasses. “That’s been one of the issues we’ve had with glasses, sizing wise, so we’ll be offering that as well.”

Working out in a void

I just read on the ARTSJOURNAL weblog that Maryanne Amacher had passed away on October 22nd.

Either I have been too busy with my own work or slacking off at reading too many art news websites but I was blown away to find this out.

I am almost disappointed in myself for not finding out sooner.

Maryanne Amacher has been one of the greatest influences in my work, my thoughts on sound and on life. While reading the post I was nearly in tears.

I don’t really know what else to say aside from I wish I the opportunity to experience her work.

1938-2009

Recently I’ve been trying to put to words what I’ve been contemplating with a few works in progress. Here’s what I have so far:

1.The ideology of the gaze functions as the conceptual frame for the logic of the gendered body.

2.The legitimation of desire functions as the conceptual frame for the culture of the public sphere.

and

3.The emergence of post-capitalist hegemony invests itself in the authentication of power/knowledge.

I was hoping to open these topics up to discussion on this site, seeing as you all are some of the smartest folks I know.
